dropbox on the web
One of the options for accessing, uploading, editing and sharing files is to log into your dropbox account. From the main page you can upload files by clicking on the upload icon. Locate the file on your computer to upload. You can upload more than one document at a time.
With files uploaded organization is helpful especially when you want to share files. You can add folders to categorize your files. Simply select the option from the task bar 'create new folder'. Give this folder a name and you are ready to move files into the folder. Moving files can be achieved by selecting the document, clicking on the move button at the top of the page and choosing the folder you want the document to be placed in. When you are ready to share a file with others dropbox allows you to access a URL for the file and send it to others via email or for you to copy the link and post it in another location. To accomplish this, select the file you want to share, at the end of the highlighted bar select 'get link'. A dialogue box will open allowing you to choose from two tasks, type in email addresses, import friends lists from Facebook or Twitter, or copy the link. If you select copy link it will be placed on your cliboard and ready for you to paste,

dropbox On your Personal Computer
From the dropbox website you can download dropbox to your personal computer. All files that are saved in your dropbox account will automatically sync to your personal computer once dropbox is installed, and you've logged in to your account.
With dropbox installed you can access your files by selecting the shortcut on your desktop, the start menu or by selecting the icon in your active tray. By making a selection from any of the above options a window will open just like opening your documents with all of your files present. From here you can not only access your documents, you can open, alter and save changes right to dropbox, upload documents, organize files and share those files. |
